Common Questions

What can I discuss in a GST consultation?
Any GST matter you are dealing with. The most common are a notice or order received from the department, an input tax credit question, classification and rate, place of supply, registration difficulties, refund claims, and whether to contest a demand or pay it. If you are unsure whether your issue is suited to a consultation, describe it in the form and you will be told before anything is confirmed.
I have received a GST notice. How quickly can I get advice?
Slots are open Monday to Saturday and can usually be taken within a day or two. If the notice carries a short deadline, say so in the description of your matter so that the timing can be treated accordingly. Bring the notice itself, the returns for the period and any earlier correspondence with the department.
Should I choose thirty minutes or sixty?
Thirty minutes suits a single, well defined question where you mainly need a view on the position. Sixty minutes suits a dispute, anything that needs documents to be read, or a matter with several issues running together. If a thirty minute consultation turns out to be too short, the remaining points can be taken up separately.
What documents should I share beforehand?
Whatever the matter turns on. For a notice or order, the document itself and the reply if one has been filed. For a credit question, the invoices and the relevant GSTR-2B. For classification, the product literature. Documents can be attached to the booking form, and reading them in advance means the time is spent on the answer rather than the background.
How is the consultation conducted?
Online, over a video call. A meeting link is sent with the confirmation email and opens in a browser, with no account or download needed.
Does booking a consultation create a professional engagement?
No. A consultation is advice on the question you bring. If the matter needs continuing work, such as drafting a reply or appearing in an appeal, that is a separate engagement discussed and agreed separately.
